Digital retrieval mandatory for all employers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From January 1, 2023, accessing the eAU, the electronic certificate of incapacity for work, will be mandatory for all employers. The submission of a paper certificate is no longer provided from this point in time. Since 2021 not only doctors and dentists have been transmitting incapacity data, but also hospitals the times of inpatient stays as part of the eAU procedure to the health insurance companies. Employers have also been able to take part in the process since early 2022, and many have already tried it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should actually be by July 1, 2022. After a postponement, on January 1, 2023, the nationwide introduction will now be serious. From this point on, employers must electronically retrieve the AU certificates for their employees from the health insurance companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From this point on, Consulting house as a payroll service provider will take part in the process on behalf of the company that represents. Consulting house will electronically retrieve the AU certificates on behalf of the companies that provide payroll services to the health insurance companies. As a result, the employee is no longer required to submit a paper certificate to the employer. and get confirmation from a health insurance company that the employee is not capable to work and the duration of his\/her incapacity for work. Consulting house only needs information from the employer on whether an employee is sick and for how long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also available for mini-jobbers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even in the case of part-time employees, an eAU request must be sent to the employee’s health insurance company – the mini-job center is not responsible for this. The employer must therefore know which health insurance company their mini-jobbers are insured with. He should ask them for this data and store it in the payroll accounting program.
